Today is the first day of Autumn, my favorite season. I love the chill in the air and seeing the leaves change colors, brillante reds, oranges and yellows. I live for wearing comfy jeans, a cozy sweater and scarf. I crave comfort foods - hot chocolate, hot apple cider, banana bread, french onion soup, mac and cheese, chili, and roasted sweet potatoes. Not all in one setting, but maybe in a single weekend.
My Saturday afternoons, and the occasional Saturday evenings, are spent watching football. I watch the first and second quarters, then enjoy a half time nap and wake up ready to cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame. The perfect Sunday includes relaxing on the couch with a good book or movie, curled up under an afghan and eventually falling asleep with the cats nearby. Yes, another afternoon nap. If only I had a fireplace, it would be heavenly and I'd probably never leave my home.
It's also time to set goals to accomplish this season. Here's hoping that I'm more successful this season, seeing as I only truly crossed off three items from my summer list.
- Yoga - two or three times a week
- Sewing class at the Needle Shop - alterations
- Work towards goal of 20 pushups
- Visit the Baha'i Temple - 100 Linden Ave, Wilmette
- Work on sewing projects (pinterest)
- Dance classes - contemporary, hip hop
- Take a jewelry class
- Self defense class
- Thrifting!
- Refinish bedroom chest
