the smart home

My intention was to visit the Green Home Chicago, but it doesn't appear to have any scheduled tours after 2008.  Interesting, and, since the days until my 30th birthday are quickly approaching, I decided to 'substitute' this to do with visiting another green house.  The other green house is the Smart Home.

The museum doesn't allow pictures of the interior of the house; any exterior pictures are perfectly fine.  They want to protect the artists' creations.  It was a really cool house with some great ideas to help make a home more eco-friendly and efficient. 

The outdoors gardens, composting, bee hives (two!), and water barrels surrounding the house.  They have cabbage, swiss chard, broccoli, lettuce and much, much more.  I wonder what the museum does with the food....

My only question...when can I move in?
